A very merry London Christmas

If you are in London a round Christmas and want a free idea to get yourself in the Christmas spirit. Walk down New Bond Street and Old Bond Street and admire the most beautifully decorated shops... Doesn't Cartier look adorable.

And with those price tags you won't feel the need to buy anything! x

I took this picture a while back and I couldn't for the life of me remember where I had taken it! Luckily, my memory came back. These are tiles from Baker Street Underground Tube Station.

If animal prints are big in clothing, think repeating giraffe patterns on scarfs, zebra's on skirts and shirts, then why can't silhouettes and animal patterns be big on tiles. And actually vice versa, I haven't seen many silhouette patterns on clothing.

I can't imagine a whole room of these tiles because they make me feel slightly sick by just looking at this one. But behind the sink, a line around the bath or a few spotted around the kitchen tiles would brighten up any room.

P.s. I love the black grout, and the monochrome

I first noticed these pots on Jamie Oliver's 15 minute meals and after a long old search on t'inter web I managed to find them...  Dansk® Kobenstyle. Beauts aren't they...Kobensty4QtCasseroleRedF12
They seem to be super expensive and Jamie has a wider variety of colours - maybe he has old ones. But anyway, if you can afford these bad boi pots and pans. Why wouldn't you?

Also, this is my favourite song from the last month (I can't find a clip that works, but here is the link).

Anybody tried this product? I am intrigued. Gonna try and get me some of this but I can't find it in the UK!

COAT WITH LEATHER SLEEVES

It’s been a while but my ‘blog’ mojo is slowly coming back. It’s difficult to find a voice when one is blogging, but I don’t believe I’ve got a particularly solid knowledge of what my ‘voice’ is normally let alone on a blog…

My latest desire is this coat from Zara. My mother says she doesn't like it, my boyf from the look on his face doesn't appreciate this style and friends give it thumbs up.

The reason I am putting so much thought in to this is because, like said Filofax, it costs more than I would ever usually spend on a jacket and therefore I have to put a lot of thought in to my purchase. Most of the time I don't buy any clothes, let alone expensive clothes but for today I am a lady wot buys expensive coats…

P.s. I haven’t tried the coat on yet so that obviously will massively affect my decision.

P.p.s. Oh yeah, and I went to three Zara's in and around Oxford Street and they hadn't got it in stock...

UPDATE - bought coat online as there were none in shops and only large left in stock on the website. Arrived and unfortunately (but great for my bank balance) it looks bad on me and does not suit my shape at all! Shame, back it goes to Zara. Mother and boyfriend were right - darn them!

Friday 14 September 2012

I finally bought a Filofax, the exact same Filofax as I mentioned previously - in yellow. FYI that is how long it takes for me to make a decision/buy it.

I am organising a friend's birthday party at my parents house in the countryside. It is going to be so fun and I love organising parties and planning food, drinks, people... everything.

Wednesday 5 September 2012

I want to do blogging well but it seems quite hard. So I am going to keep this excellent post  in mind when I want to know how to credit other people's work...

Wednesday 29 August 2012

I thought I would mention this great cause and the event I am attending on Saturday. A friend of mine was killed this May and here is his story, Monty's Story, and here is his sister's story, Isabella's story.

His sister and a group of others are putting on a charity polo match which I am attending this Saturday. I have never been to a polo match so I am looking forward to finding out what actually goes down.

Here's the invitation. Isn't it marvellous.

My granny died on Sunday (August 26th). I went to her house on Monday and looked through all her belongings and reminded myself what beautiful possessions she had and how well she kept all her things.

Throughout her life she lived in many countries, travelled all over the place, made beautiful clothes and collected  lots and kept everything so immaculately.

Jeanne (Granny) was a most excellent seamstress and it reminds me how much I want to be able to sew well. My observations from routing through her stuff are - old Liberty fabrics are just divine, styles keep on coming back in to fashion, it is hard for jewellery to ever really go out of fashion, making clothes looks super hard!

But I have come across these new Liberty Lifestyle Craft Fabrics. They're fab and my favourite pattern is this one, Liberty you still seem to have got it!

My grandmother is dying but while she is alive here are only a few reasons why I love her very much and always will  - AND when I grow up I want to be just like her!

You could always rely on Granny to -
  • Drink the strongest gin and tonics - ratio: gin (slowly say) 1, 2, 3, tonic (quickly) 1, 2, 3
  • Say inappropriate things to her children, grandchildren and anyone who would listen, 'I happened to flick on to late night Channel 4...'
  • Hold court in any room - 'gentlemen should stand up when a lady walks into the room'
  • Make comments on people's clothing and what she can see 'I can see your bottom' or describe a friend's skirt as a 'pussy pelmet' (yes in a crowded room on my 18 birthday, I had one rather red faced friend!)
  • She once told me if she was every going to do a lecture, she would do it on 'knickers through the ages'

There's much, much more she has done in her time, but for today here are but a few.

I love Granny very much and Granny loves us x

P.s. Nicholas House was the care home she was in at the end and it is EXCELLENT. Don't think old, smelly and sad. This place is new, clean, bright, beautiful views and the carers are wonderful. I am already eyeing it up for my parents ; )

This weekend I went to a great friend's wedding. It was a brilliant day.

There first dance song was this Fleetwood Mac song and I love it. Wot a beaut?

Wednesday 8 August 2012

One can't help but mention the Olympics because it is currently taking place in the UK. It is such great viewing and every four years I am reminded how I would love to be determined and great at sports!

Here are a few Olympic links

Is it normal to be able to fly, well nearly

Looking forward to seeing Shanaze Reade  at the Olympic Park on Friday

And to finish off, here are a few questions that my friends and I have been asking ourselves while slobbing on the sofa
  • If you had to take part in a sport from the Olympics, which one would you take part in?
For the last three weeks I have been umming and ahhing over a filofax. Yes, that personal organiser from the 80s and yes, I do really want one. It has taken this long for me to realise that after thinking and looking at them, online and in two different shops, I am going to buy one.

But now for the hard part... What size and colour. I think I have narrowed it down to this one:

Finsbury, Personal Organisers
But what if I want the blue (is it too blue) because yellow may get dirty, or compact because this size will be too big. What to do...

Who knew a simple personal organiser could bring such faffing! Me probably.

Ever thought you want to run away with the circus... If not you probably haven't seen Giffords Circus. The circus travels around country village green's in the southwest over the summer. Everything is beautifully creative and wonderful, a sensory overload one might say!

Buy tickets for next summer 2013 Gifford's Circus

P.s. My latest idea is to make hair bobbles with beads and strawberries and glitter and... basically anything you could possibly ever want on a bobble.
